I am generally an experienced finance executive with more than 10 years experience. A qualified Chartered Accountant (CA-Z) with an MBA from University of Zimbabwe. Also looking forward to grow my career by taking up more executive roles in finance. Work & Experience
I am generally responsible for financial planning and reporting which covers annual financial statements preparation, external audit, annual budgeting, cashflow planning and analysis, preparation of board and other reports, advising management on financial matters, among others.
Served as a Finance Manager in the social impact investment arm of the Econet Group. Duties included annual budgeting, managing partner funding processes, cashflow management, preparation of the annual financial statements, managing the annual audit process, managing compliance with regulatory bodies, periodic financial reporting, and team coaching and development. During my time, we were able to produce the first set of IFRS compliant financial statements for a non-profit organisation. I also led the finance team through the successful development and deployment of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
Served in the role of Finance Manager, for Leon then a start up in the financial services sector. Was overall responsible for the finance function including annual financial statements preparation, preparation of investor notes/ briefs, cashflow planning and management, annual audit, managing compliance with tax and other regulatory authorities. In this role, I led the finance team in establishing accounting systems and procedure manuals for a start-up business
Appointed the first accountant of a startup credit reference services company. Was able to set up the accounting systems and procedures. We were also able to produce the first set of audited financial statements for a startup company.
Served and completed my articles with KPMG Zimbabwe, Harare office, where I had exposure to companies in the mining, manufacturing, technology, and financial services sectors.
